The library
The setting you need is probably already in here
Every maker has burned a stack of blanks running test grids to find a number someone else already found. Search across material, brand, machine, vendor and notes at once, filter eleven ways, and take the numbers straight to your machine.
- Search everything at once — "f2 tumbler" finds it even when those words live in different fields
- 11 filters: machine, laser type, operation, wattage, thickness, brand, vendor and more
- Sorted by most favourited, so you can see what actually works for people
- Browse by material instead, with cut settings broken out by thickness
- Every setting shows its source: supplier reference, community, or our own testing
- Register your machines and it flags which settings match yours
Free tools
Seven tools that run in your browser
Nothing to install. The client-side ones never upload your file or your content anywhere.
QR Code Generator
The only one we know of built for engraving. SVG output sized in real millimetres, and it tells you before you burn whether the code is too dense to scan.
Dynamic QR Codes
Change where a code points after it is already engraved. The artwork never changes, the destination does. 25 per free account.
Project Calculator
Price a job properly before you cut. Materials, labour, machine time, markup, tax reserve, and what you actually take home.
Setting Converter
Have a setting for a different wattage of the same laser type? Get a Balanced, Faster or Cooler starting point for yours.
Line Density Converter
LightBurn interval, lines/cm, LPI, DPI and lines/mm. Type any one, get them all.
LightBurn to xTool Converter
Two-way between a .clb material library and an XCS .json. These two ecosystems do not talk to each other. This does.
Test Grid Generator
For when you genuinely do have to dial something in from scratch.
Get it onto your machine
Export to LightBurn or xTool in one click
A setting is only useful where you actually work. Download any setting — or your own tuned copy of it — straight into your material library.
- LightBurn .clb material library — import into Material Library
- xTool Creative Space .json — Materials, then Import
- Or copy the raw numbers if you would rather type them
- Works for library settings and for your own private saved copies
Your free account
Sign in and it becomes your workshop
Browsing needs no account at all. A free email sign-in — one-time code or one-click Google — unlocks the verbs.
Favourites
Heart any setting. One click away, forever.
My Settings
Save a private, fully editable copy of any setting and tune it for your machine. Export your copies too.
My Machines
Register what you own, including multiple laser sources on one gantry. Prefills from 57 known machines.
Maker Planner
A kanban board from Planned through to Sold, with a timeline, lead-time badges that flag overdue, and price chips from your saved quotes.
Plan and learn
The parts nobody tells you about
Settings get the material cut. These get the product sold.
Gifting Calendar
46 occasions with lead times, so you start Mother's Day stock before it is too late. Each one has timing guidance and what tends to sell.
Project Ideas
12 in-depth guides — why it sells, how to make it, tips, pricing and FAQs, cross-linked to the occasions they suit.
Glossary
86 laser terms in plain language, for when a setting mentions something you have not met yet.
Supplies
23 curated materials and consumables actually worth buying, with links.
Brands and Suppliers
Machine manufacturers and material suppliers, each with their own page.
Discounts
7 active supplier and brand partners, surfaced right on the settings for that material and machine.
Why it is free
Free because we sell blanks, not subscriptions
There is no paid tier — not a starter version with something better waiting behind it. There is genuinely nothing to buy. Maker Foundry sells blanks and supplies and earns affiliate commission, and the library exists to help the community and bring makers into it.
That is the whole business model, stated plainly so you are not sat there waiting for the catch.
Free email sign-in. No credit card, no usage caps.
Where the numbers come from
Worth knowing before you trust a setting
Every setting is labelled
1,417 come from manufacturer and supplier references, 425 from the community, 519 from our own testing. You always know which you are looking at.
Test on scrap first
Machines differ even within a model. The library is a starting point, not a guarantee, and it says so everywhere.
The converter refuses to guess
It will not convert between diode, CO2 and fiber, because the physics do not transfer. Refusing is more useful than a confident wrong number.
The count rounds down
If it says 2,300+, there are at least 2,300. We would rather understate it.

A laser settings library for real machines and real materials
Maker Foundry's settings library is a free, searchable collection of laser cutting and engraving settings covering CO2, diode, fiber and infrared, UV and RF machines. It spans 53 machines from 15 manufacturers including xTool, Aeon Laser, OneLaser, Ortur, Thunder Laser, Darkly Labs, Atomstack, Creality, Sculpfun and NEJE, across 567 materials — wood, acrylic, leather and leatherette, coated metal, slate, glass, tumblers and more.
Every entry carries the full picture: power, speed, line interval or LPI or DPI, passes, frequency, pulse width, lens, angle, processing mode, thickness, colour and finish, plus notes and photos. Each one is labelled with where it came from — a manufacturer or supplier reference, a community submission, or Maker Foundry's own testing — so you always know what you are looking at. Settings export as a LightBurn .clb material library or an xTool Creative Space .json, so they land in the software you already use.
Alongside the library are seven free browser tools: a QR code generator built for engraving rather than screens, dynamic QR codes you can re-point after they are engraved, a project pricing calculator, a setting converter for moving between wattages, a line density converter for LPI, DPI and interval, a two-way LightBurn to xTool file converter, and a test grid generator. There is no paid tier and no trial. Maker Foundry sells blanks and supplies, and the library exists to help the community that buys them.
Stop guessing. Start lasering.
2,300+ settings, 560+ materials, seven free tools and a planner. No card, no trial, nothing to upgrade to.
